Three sovereign platforms, one shared standard of confidentiality. Compare language coverage, pricing and security guarantees to find the one that matches your country, your working language and your profession.
Swiss Transcript, LuxTranscript and SecureTranscript are three automatic audio and video transcription services built on the same conviction: a recorded board meeting, a legal hearing or a therapy session has no business sitting in an American or Asian cloud. All three run on open-source artificial intelligence models hosted in Europe, without a single call to a third-party API, and never reuse your content to train their models.
What separates them is therefore not the technology, but language coverage and hosting jurisdiction. Swiss Transcript is built for Switzerland and Swiss German; LuxTranscript for Luxembourg and Luxembourgish; SecureTranscript for the European Union and its 27 languages. This comparison helps you identify in a few minutes which one fits your needs.
Disclosure: Swiss Transcript, LuxTranscript and SecureTranscript are three platforms published by the same company, Swiss Machina Sàrl (Lausanne, Switzerland). This is therefore not an independent review: it describes three products we develop and operate ourselves. We publish it because our customers regularly ask us which of the three to choose for their country and working language.
Swiss Transcript is the group's flagship platform for the Swiss market. Its distinguishing feature is one that almost no competitor covers properly: native recognition of Swiss German and its dialects — Zurich, Bern, Basel and the rest. International engines, trained on standard German, produce unusable transcripts from these recordings.
Its second strength is legal and territorial. Data is processed and hosted entirely in Switzerland, on in-house servers complemented by Infomaniak's infrastructure in Geneva. The platform falls under Swiss law and satisfies both the nFADP and the GDPR, with a data processing agreement (DPA) available on request. For a Swiss cantonal administration, hospital or law firm, this is often the non-negotiable entry condition.
Pricing: billed in Swiss francs. Prepaid starts at CHF 0.17 per minute, with tiered packs at CHF 35 for 5 h, CHF 60 for 10 h and CHF 100 for 20 h whose credits never expire. Monthly subscriptions run from Starter (5 h, CHF 20) to Expert (100 h, CHF 250), via Essential, Pro and Business, with 20 % off on an annual commitment. The business account works on shared credit, with no per-user billing. 60 free minutes are included when you create an account.

SecureTranscript is the broadest of the three in linguistic terms: it transcribes 27 European languages, from the major official languages of the Union to regional languages that are rarely supported, such as Basque, Catalan and Galician. It answers the needs of organisations operating across the continent: European institutions, multi-country industrial groups, NGOs, research laboratories and international consultancies.
Its second argument is legal. SecureTranscript runs exclusively on servers located in Switzerland, with an independent European host, and places itself explicitly outside the jurisdiction of the US CLOUD Act. Because Switzerland holds an adequacy decision from the European Commission, this hosting choice is fully GDPR-compliant, with no standard contractual clauses or additional transfer formalities. No calls are made to ChatGPT, OpenAI or any foreign API: the open-source model runs locally on the platform's own infrastructure. For a data protection officer, demonstrating compliance becomes considerably simpler.
Usage and pricing: the platform is entirely online, with no installation, and lets you record in real time from the browser — on desktop, phone or tablet, with no dedicated app. It accepts audio and video files up to 16 GB and supports Microsoft Teams meetings in beta. On billing, prepaid starts at EUR 8 per hour with tiered 5 h / 10 h / 20 h packs whose credits never expire; subscriptions start at EUR 20 per month for 5 hours and go down to EUR 3.25 per hour on the 20-hour plan, with a further 20 % off on an annual commitment. Subscription hours are consumed first, after which the application automatically switches to your prepaid credit. The business account with shared credit avoids any per-user billing.

The deciding factor is almost always the language of your recordings, followed by the country where your data must reside. Here is the simple rule we apply ourselves whenever a customer asks.
You are a Swiss organisation, or your recordings contain Swiss German and its dialects. You need your data to stay on Swiss soil, under the nFADP, with billing in Swiss francs and support based in Switzerland.
→ Swiss municipalities, hospitals, law firms, HR teams and research institutes.
Your meetings are held in Luxembourgish, or mix Luxembourgish, French, German and English within the same conversation. No other platform on the market handles this properly.
→ Luxembourg municipalities and administrations, notaries, lawyers, doctors, therapists, journalists, University of Luxembourg researchers.
You work across several European languages, or in a language the other platforms ignore. You need to prove to your DPO that your data never leaves the European continent and escapes the CLOUD Act.
→ European institutions, multi-country groups, NGOs, laboratories and international consultancies.
Worth knowing: all three platforms include free transcription minutes when you create an account, with no credit card required. The most reliable way to decide is to submit a recording that is representative of your meetings to whichever one matches your language, and judge the output for yourself.
Whichever one you choose, your recordings stay in Europe, are never used to train a model, and are deleted as soon as the transcription is complete.
